In a major step towards digital governance and efficient public service delivery, the Federal Ministry of Interior has launched a new Online Citizenship and Business Management Platform to streamline the processing of citizenship applications, business permits, and foreign workforce regulations in Nigeria.
This was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani, who explained that the digital platform is part of the ministry’s ongoing reforms aimed at promoting transparency, operational efficiency, and enhanced user experience.
According to Ajani, the new platform is designed to simplify the process for Nigerians and foreign nationals seeking various services under the purview of the Interior Ministry. These services include citizenship registration, business permit applications, and the administration of guidelines relating to foreign workers and corporate operations in the country.
“The platform will ensure faster turnaround time and improved service quality,” she said. “It represents a significant leap in our commitment to establish a more transparent, secure, and user-friendly system that aligns with global best practices.”
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the online service is accessible via the Ministry of Interior’s official website: https://interior.gov.ng or directly through the portal: https://candb.interior.gov.ng. For inquiries and technical support, users can also reach the ministry via email at candb-support@interior.gov.ng.
Ajani emphasized that the digitalization effort reflects the federal government’s broader strategy of modernizing public administration, reducing bureaucratic bottlenecks, and fostering an environment conducive to business and lawful migration.
“With this platform, we are not just improving service delivery but also reinforcing Nigeria’s commitment to global competitiveness in business and public sector innovation,” she added.
Stakeholders, corporate bodies, and individuals have been urged to take advantage of the platform for a more seamless and efficient experience when dealing with citizenship and business permit-related processes.
This development is expected to reduce delays, minimize human interference, and improve transparency in one of the country’s most sensitive administrative areas.
