Young Farmer Succumbs to Injuries After Alleged Army Shooting

The town of Naka in Gwer-West, Benue State, is in mourning following the tragic death of Aondona Nyitamen, a young farmer who was allegedly shot by men of the Nigerian Army during a protest.
 Nyitamen, who hails from Tse Aji in Gbaange Tongov Council Ward, succumbed to his injuries earlier today.

According to eyewitness accounts, Nyitamen was not part of the protest but was returning from the farm at Tse Kough alongside his mother when the unfortunate incident occurred. 

As they approached Zam Hotel, a stray bullet from security forces struck him, leaving him gravely wounded.

The shooting reportedly happened as security forces attempted to control the protest that erupted in the area. Alongside Nyitamen, two others were also shot during the unrest.

His death has sparked outrage among residents, with community members condemning the incident and demanding justice.

Many have called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Local authorities and military officials have yet to release an official statement regarding the tragic event. 

However, tensions remain high in Naka as the community mourns the loss of Nyitamen and prays for the recovery of the other victims.
