Senator Isah Echocho, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Customs, Excise, and Tariff, has lauded President Bola Tinubu for approving the establishment of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), describing it as a pivotal initiative that addresses the region’s unique challenges and validates its support for Tinubu in the 2023 election.

In a statement released on Saturday through his media aide, Mikail Ibrahim, Echocho called the creation of the NCDC a “momentous occasion” for the North Central region.
He emphasized that the commission is set to drive economic growth, enhance infrastructure development, and boost social welfare across an area that has long struggled with issues such as poverty, unemployment, and inadequate infrastructure.
“Today, we feel vindicated for supporting President Tinubu in the 2023 election. He has listened to our concerns,” Echocho stated.
He underscored the significance of a structured approach to addressing the challenges unique to the North Central region, noting that the NCDC’s establishment is a testament to Tinubu’s responsiveness to the needs of the people.
Echocho also called on stakeholders—including local governments, community leaders, and civil society—to collaborate closely with the commission.
