In a chilling midnight attack on Monday, gunmen suspected to be kidnappers abducted five individuals, including a man, his wife, son, and elder brother, in the Chikakore area of Kubwa, Bwari Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The heavily armed assailants, estimated to number about 30 and wielding AK-47 rifles, stormed the residence of one Adefija Michael Akinropo at around 12:00 a.m.
Reports indicate that the attackers forced their way into the home, taking Akinropo, his wife, son, and elder brother hostage.
In a simultaneous raid, the gunmen targeted another building in the community that houses a poultry farm. There, they abducted a male worker and inflicted injuries on his wife during the attack.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving residents gripped by fear and uncertainty.
A neighbor who spoke on the condition of anonymity described the attack as "organized and swift," saying, "They seemed to know exactly who they were after and didn’t waste time."
When contacted, the Federal Capital Territory Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, acknowledged awareness of the situation but declined to provide immediate details. “Let me get details from the DPO. I will get back to you,” she told CONFIRMNEWS.
As of now, the whereabouts of the abductees remain unknown, and the kidnappers are yet to make any demands.
This latest incident underscores the growing insecurity in the region, with many residents calling on the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to curb the rising wave of kidnappings and violent crimes.
Efforts are underway to gather more information and track down the perpetrators. Meanwhile, residents in the affected area have appealed for increased police patrols and a heightened security presence to restore a sense of safety in their community.
