Benue State Governor, Dr. Iormem Alia, has donated a brand-new Toyota Hummer bus to the Mdzough U Tiv Worldwide, a gesture aimed at enhancing the association's operational capacity and community outreach.
The vehicle was officially handed over to the group on Monday, with the President of Mdzough U Tiv Worldwide, CP Iorbee Ihagh (Rtd), receiving it on behalf of the association.
The presentation ceremony, which took place in Makurdi, was attended by representatives from the state government, community leaders, and members of the Tiv socio-cultural organization.
Governor Alia highlighted the importance of the donation, stating that it reflects his administration’s commitment to supporting grassroots organizations that play pivotal roles in preserving culture, promoting unity, and addressing community concerns.
He commended the leadership of Mdzough U Tiv for their efforts in fostering peace and development across Tiv land and beyond.
In his response, CP Iorbee Ihagh expressed gratitude to the governor for the thoughtful gesture, noting that the bus would greatly aid the association in its activities, including mobilization, advocacy, and the execution of key projects.
He pledged the association's continued support for the government’s initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the Tiv people and all residents of Benue State.
