FG to Launch National Values Charter in Early 2025, Promises Youth Inclusion and Economic Reforms

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced plans to unveil the National Values Charter in the first quarter of 2025, a move aimed at fostering unity, trust, and cooperation across Nigeria’s diverse population.

The charter, already approved by the Federal Executive Council, will serve as a foundation for building stronger relationships between the government and its citizens.

In his New Year message to Nigerians delivered on Wednesday, the President emphasized the need for shared values, patriotism, and ethical principles to drive national progress.

Tinubu described the National Values Charter as a tool to inspire Nigerians to rally together for a common purpose.

“I will launch an ambitious national orientation campaign that fosters patriotism and love for our country and inspires citizens to rally together,” he said.

He stressed that the success of his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda depends on citizens’ commitment to shared identities and an unconditional love for Nigeria.

The President also revealed plans to host a Youth Confab in the first quarter of 2025. This initiative underscores his administration’s dedication to youth inclusion and investment in young people as pivotal nation-builders.

Tinubu noted that the Ministry of Youth would soon provide guidelines for selecting representatives for the conference, ensuring diverse participation from Nigeria’s youthful population.

In addressing economic reforms, Tinubu called on governors and local council chairpersons to collaborate with the federal government in seizing opportunities in agriculture, livestock, and tax reforms.

He commended states that have embraced the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative by introducing CNG-powered public transportation and praised those integrating electric vehicles into the national energy mix as part of the country’s transition to greener energy.

Tinubu assured that the Federal Government would continue to provide necessary support to states implementing these initiatives.

Urging Nigerians to take ownership of the country’s progress, the President highlighted the role of moral rectitude and allegiance to national goals in achieving sustainable development. He noted that ethical principles and shared values would be promoted through the National Identity Project, which will be a focus in 2025.

Tinubu’s New Year message reinforced his administration’s commitment to national unity, youth empowerment, and collaborative economic reforms, setting an optimistic tone for the year ahead.
