Fresh court documents obtained on Tuesday have revealed startling allegations against Godwin Emefiele, the embattled former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly linked Emefiele to a sprawling property measuring an astonishing 150,500 square meters.
The property, identified as Plot 109 in the Cadastral Zone C09 of the Lokogoma District, Abuja, is at the heart of ongoing investigations into alleged financial misconduct.
The EFCC’s narrative in the court filings sheds light on the scale of the accusations, suggesting a direct connection between Emefiele and the acquisition of the property.
This development adds a new layer to the legal troubles facing the ex-CBN chief, who has been under intense scrutiny for his financial dealings during his tenure.
The EFCC is expected to intensify its efforts to recover assets allegedly linked to corruption.
Further hearings on the matter are anticipated in the coming weeks.
