Outrage is mounting against Benue Links Transport Company following a harrowing incident on River Buruku.
A local boat carrying a fully-loaded Benue Links bus, cargo, and passengers capsized, nearly resulting in a major tragedy.
Only the swift arrival of a rescue boat prevented the loss of multiple lives, including that of a prominent figure known as BABA YEV 1.
“This is unacceptable!” a concerned voice declared in a public outcry. “What in God’s name would make you load a bus and people onto a local boat? If the rescue boat hadn’t come on time, the story would have been different. This is how you risk lives carelessly!”
The incident has sparked widespread criticism of Benue Links’ management practices, with many accusing the company of neglecting safety and ignoring customer feedback.
Critics argue that while the company recently acquired new buses, its approach to public service delivery leaves much to be desired.
“It’s not just about buying new buses,” the critic continued. “It’s about how you manage them and serve the public.
Benue Links isn’t a personal business. Whoever is in charge should stop dismissing public complaints.”
The outburst reflects growing dissatisfaction among the public, with many highlighting poor service delivery, management lapses, and a failure to address recurring safety concerns.
Stakeholders are now calling for immediate reforms, urging the company to prioritize passenger safety and operational efficiency.
“If this trend continues,” the critic warned, “Benue Links will not only damage its reputation but also jeopardize the lifespan of its new buses.”
As tensions rise, many are left questioning whether Benue Links will take this as a wake-up call to implement necessary changes or continue on a path that risks its integrity and the safety of its customers.
