The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has assured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu is diligently working to alleviate the current economic hardships facing the nation. During the flag-off ceremony for a new road construction project from Life Camp Junction to Ring Road 3—known as the N5 arterial road—Wike expressed confidence that citizens would soon be singing the president's praises.
This project marks the fifth road construction initiative launched within a week, highlighting the government's focus on infrastructural development as a means to tackle economic challenges. Wike emphasized that Tinubu is committed to implementing strategic measures that address various pressing issues, including food insecurity.
“We must continue to pray for Nigeria and our leaders,” Wike urged, asserting that comprehensive plans are in place to ensure that all citizens benefit from the Renewed Hope Initiatives. He also encouraged the Julius Berger Company, responsible for the project, to complete the construction within 14 months, offering the potential for additional contracts if they exceed expectations.
While the contract sum for the road project was not disclosed, Wike revealed that the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has made a 70% upfront payment to Julius Berger, reinforcing his belief that the company will deliver high-quality work, consistent with its established reputation.
As the government seeks to foster economic growth and improve infrastructure, Wike's remarks highlight an ongoing commitment to restoring hope and progress in Nigeria.
