The office of the Governor and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has addressed recent claims made by Mr. Philip Agbese.
According to a statement issued by Sir Tersoo Kula, MNIPR, Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Agbese asserted that the Governor and former state chairman of the APC in Benue had organized Local Government and Ward congresses to nominate candidates for the forthcoming Local Government elections in the state.
This claim is categorically false. The APC in Benue State has not conducted any Local Government or Ward Primaries.
The caretaker committee, established by the National Working Committee led by His Excellency, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has not yet started selling nomination forms or forms for declarations of interest.
Therefore, any suggestion that primaries have taken place is baseless and unfounded.
Governor Hyacinth Alia, who also serves as the leader of the APC in Benue, chaired the State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting that ratified the suspension of the former state chairman, Mr. Austin Agada, by the APC in Ehaji Ward of Ogbadibo Local Government Area.
Under these circumstances, it is implausible that Governor Alia would collaborate with a former party member for any official party activity.
Mr. Philip Agbese has a track record of making disparaging comments and casting aspersions on His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, and the office of the Governor of Benue State.
Known for spreading misinformation and promoting falsehoods, Mr. Agbese's statements should be disregarded by all conscientious and responsible citizens.
Governor Alia remains committed to his mandate, focused on fulfilling the promises made to the people before his election as Governor. He refuses to be sidetracked by engaging with individuals such as Philip Agbese and their associates.
The public is strongly advised to ignore any misleading statements or mischievous opinions disseminated by Mr. Agbese or his allies.
