Amid Nationwide Protests, APC's Ganduje Assures Nigerians of Economic Recovery
Amidst a wave of nationwide protests against hunger and hardship that began on August 1, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has assured Nigerians that the country’s economic challenges will soon be over.
Addressing a delegation from APC USA in his office on Wednesday, Ganduje expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu's efforts to improve the living conditions of Nigerians. He emphasized that the current economic hardships are not unique to Nigeria, highlighting that even developed economies are facing similar issues.
“There’s no doubt, as a developing country, even the so-called developed economies have their turbulence in one way or the other,” Ganduje stated. “Whenever there is a reform agenda, obstacles must be on the way, and as a result, people must suffer in one way or the other. But, in the long run, everything will be according to the plan.”
Prof. Adesegun Labinjo, leader of the APC USA team, urged Nigerians to support President Tinubu in his efforts to steer the economy towards recovery, reaffirming the delegation's backing for the president and the party's leadership amidst the ongoing unrest.
