[BREAKING] President Bola Tinubu Signs National Anthem Reversion Bill into Law

President Bola Tinubu has signed into law the National Anthem Bill passed by the National Assembly on Tuesday.
The bill reverts to Nigeria’s old national anthem at independence in 1960, "Nigeria we hail thee." The old national anthem was abrogated by the military in 1978, and 46 years after, President Bola Tinubu signed the bill returning the anthem in place of the newer one, "Arise oh compatriots."

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, disclosed the Presidential assent moments ago at a joint session of both chambers of the National Assembly to mark 25 years of unbroken democracy in the country.

Earlier, Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, enjoined lawmakers and visitors waiting for the arrival of President Bola Tinubu to download the old National Anthem that would now become Nigeria’s national anthem.
