President Biden Lifts Ban on Ukraine Using US Weapons Inside Russian Territory to Defend Kharkiv Region

President Joe Biden has lifted the ban on Ukraine using US weapons inside Russian territory in order to help the country defend its northeastern Kharkiv region from attack.
This marks a significant shift in policy, as Biden had previously refused to allow Kyiv to use US weapons beyond Ukraine's borders.

The decision comes as Russia has renewed its attacks on the Kharkiv region, prompting Ukraine to seek support from its Western allies.

The move to allow Ukraine to use US-supplied weapons for counter-fire purposes in the Kharkiv region signifies a departure from the previous stance of the Biden administration.

This decision has been met with both support and caution, with some experts pointing to the potential consequences of escalating the conflict.

The US will continue to prohibit Ukraine from using certain long-range weapons for attacks deep inside Russia, in an effort to maintain some limitations on the situation.

The situation in Ukraine continues to evolve, with ongoing military movements and escalations in the Kharkiv region.

The international community, including NATO, is closely monitoring the developments and considering the implications of providing support to Ukraine in its defense efforts.
