Former President Muhammadu Buhari has called on Nigerians to throw their weight behind President Bola Tinubu's government.
In a press statement released by Garba Shehu, an aide to the former president, on Tuesday, citizens were urged to support Tinubu’s administration in overcoming socio-economic challenges.
The statement reads: “Former President Muhammadu Buhari sends his best wishes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the completion of his first year in office. He urged all citizens to continue to strengthen national unity and goodwill.
“Furthermore, he appealed to them to give their blessings and support to the Tinubu administration so that it can succeed in its efforts to build the Nigeria of our dreams.
“President Buhari expressed his wish for a successful tenure in office for the Tinubu administration.”
SaharaReporters previously highlighted comments made by former House of Representatives member, Usman Bugaje, who criticized President Tinubu’s administration, describing it as a tragedy for Nigerians.
During a recent interview with Channels Television’s Politics Today, Bugaje stated that President Tinubu’s government had not solved a single problem in Nigeria but had instead created more problems than it inherited.
Bugaje described Tinubu’s administration as groping in the dark and lamented the absence of metrics to evaluate governance and compel leaders to present their achievements to the people in a scientific manner.
