Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has charged civil servants to prioritize accountability and enhance productivity to drive the state’s development agenda.
The call was made during the inauguration of the newly completed Local Government Service Commission Complex in Calabar, a state-of-the-art facility designed to streamline administrative operations and improve service delivery.
Speaking at the event, Governor Otu emphasized the importance of a committed workforce in achieving the state’s vision for sustainable growth.
“This complex is not just a building; it symbolizes our commitment to efficiency and progress. I urge every worker to uphold accountability and rededicate themselves to serving the people of Cross River with diligence,” he said.
The modern complex, equipped with advanced facilities, is expected to enhance the operational capacity of the Local Government Service Commission, fostering better coordination and oversight of local government activities across the state.
The governor highlighted that the project aligns with his administration’s focus on infrastructure development and institutional reforms to boost public sector performance.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, and community leaders, who commended the governor for his efforts in modernizing state institutions.
The Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Chief Patrick Ekpenyong, praised the governor’s vision, assuring that the commission would leverage the new facility to improve staff welfare and service efficiency.
