Naira Falls by 2.8% Despite CBN's $197.71 Million Intervention in FX Market


The Nigerian naira depreciated by 2.8% against the US dollar, closing at ₦1,612.23 per dollar on Monday, April 7, 2025, down from ₦1,567.02 per dollar the previous Friday. 
This decline occurred despite the Central Bank of Nigeria's (CBN) intervention, where it sold $197.71 million to authorized foreign exchange dealers on April 4, 2025, aiming to stabilize the currency amid global economic pressures.
