The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced a change in the commencement date of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The examination will now begin on Thursday, April 24, 2025, instead of the earlier slated Friday, April 25, 2025.
This development was disclosed in a statement signed by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, and shared via the Board’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
According to the statement, the date change became necessary to accommodate certain crucial engagements involving the Board and its partner agencies.
In readiness for the examination, JAMB has directed all registered candidates to commence the printing of their Examination Notification Slips beginning today, Saturday, April 19, 2025.
The slip contains vital information including the candidate’s examination date, venue, time, and other essential instructions that will help ensure a smooth examination experience.
The Board explained that candidates are expected to visit the official JAMB website at www.jamb.gov.ng, click on ‘2025 UTME Slip Printing’, input their registration number, and proceed to print their Examination Notification Slip.
JAMB strongly advised that candidates print their slips and familiarize themselves with their assigned examination centres at least one or two days before the examination. This, the Board noted, would help avoid any last-minute confusion or delays on the day of the exam.
The Board also reiterated that no candidate would be posted outside the examination town they selected during registration. It assured candidates that all examination centres would fall within the towns of their choice, further ensuring convenience and accessibility.
The Board concluded by reminding candidates to take advantage of the time before the examination to properly prepare, familiarize themselves with their exam schedule, and arrive early at their respective centres.
The 2025 UTME will officially commence on Thursday, April 24, 2025, and JAMB emphasized the importance of readiness and early planning to ensure a hitch-free examination process.
