Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has debunked viral social media reports alleging that he collapsed last week due to excessive alcohol consumption.
Speaking on Thursday while inspecting four major ongoing projects in the FCT, including the International Conference Centre (ICC), Wike dismissed the claims as baseless and politically motivated.
“These are lies fabricated by mischief-makers to score cheap political points,” Wike stated, emphasizing that he remains in good health and fully committed to his duties.
The rumors, which suggested that the minister suffered a partial stroke, gained traction on social media, sparking concerns among his supporters.
However, Wike’s public appearance and active engagement in project inspections have put the speculation to rest.
Observers believe the false reports may be part of a wider political campaign to discredit the minister, who has remained a vocal and influential figure in Nigerian politics.
Despite the controversy, Wike reassured the public that he remains focused on delivering on his mandate to transform the FCT, urging citizens to disregard fake news.
