The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared prominent businesswoman and socialite, Aisha Sulaiman Achimugu, wanted over allegations of criminal conspiracy and money laundering.

This was disclosed in an official statement released on Friday by the agency’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
According to the EFCC, Achimugu, 51, an indigene of Ofu Local Government Area in Kogi State, is on the run and is being sought by law enforcement authorities.
Her last known address was 6C, Rudolf Close, Maitama, Abuja. The anti-graft agency has urged members of the public with useful information regarding her whereabouts to contact the EFCC through its offices across the country, via phone at 08093322644, or email at info@efcc.gov.ng. They also advised reporting to the nearest police station or any relevant security agency.
Reports indicate that Achimugu was initially invited by the EFCC’s Port Harcourt Zonal Office for questioning regarding an alleged high-profile investment scam linked to money laundering.
A letter dated March 4, 2025, and signed by the acting Zonal Director of the EFCC in Port Harcourt, Adebayo Adeniyi, summoned her to appear for questioning on March 5.
The letter, addressed to her Abuja residence, stated that the commission was investigating a case that required her urgent clarification.
However, instead of honoring the invitation, Achimugu reportedly fled the country on March 6, prompting the EFCC to seek a warrant for her arrest and subsequently declare her wanted.
The EFCC has vowed to bring Achimugu to justice, with sources suggesting that international law enforcement agencies may be engaged to facilitate her extradition if necessary.
