President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Nigeria for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to participate in the 2025 edition of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW).
The President’s plane took off from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at approximately 6:30 PM on Friday.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, revealed that the invitation to attend the high-profile event came from the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Summit is set to take place from January 12 to 18 in Abu Dhabi.
Themed "The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress," the 2025 edition of ADSW will convene global leaders, policymakers, business executives, and civil society representatives to discuss strategies for advancing sustainable development and socioeconomic progress.
The Summit aims to explore transformative pathways to build a sustainable economy and usher in a new era of prosperity for all.

During the Summit, President Tinubu is expected to highlight his administration’s key reforms in areas such as energy sufficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development.

President Tinubu is scheduled to return to Nigeria on Thursday, January 16.
