Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, has submitted a third batch of nominees for Ministerial and Regional Ministerial positions to Parliament for approval.
The list, signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Government Spokesperson, was delivered to the Speaker of Parliament on Tuesday, signaling further progress in the President's efforts to assemble his government team.
For the Regional Ministerial positions, Puozuing Charles Lwanga has been nominated for Upper West, Joseph Addae Akwaboa for Bono, and Francis Owusu Antwi for Bono East.
In addition to the regional appointments, President Mahama has proposed Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah to head the Ministry of Defence, while Samuel Nartey George has been nominated to lead the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations.
Issifu Seidu has been chosen to oversee the Ministry of Climate Change and Sustainability, and Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum is set to become the Minister of State in Charge of Special Initiatives.
The nominations reflect the President’s emphasis on expertise and innovation, particularly in key areas such as climate change, digital technology, and national defense. Parliament will now commence the vetting process before the nominees can formally assume their roles.
