Tragedy struck in the early hours of Thursday as fire engulfed the residence of Adzer Kyase, located along Mhanbe Road, behind St. Joseph and Mary Secondary School in Korinya City, Konshisha Local Government Area.
According to reports from his tenants, the devastating blaze broke out around 2:00 a.m. on January 30, 2025, after an electrical spark from NEPA wires ignited the building’s wiring system. Within minutes, the fire spread rapidly, consuming the structure and reducing it to ashes.
Eyewitnesses described the horrifying moment the flames engulfed the house, tearing through the roof and leaving nothing behind. Despite the intensity of the fire, no lives were lost, no injuries were recorded, and sadly, no property was salvaged from the wreckage.
Speaking about the incident, one of the affected residents expressed gratitude for divine intervention, saying, "With the intervention of God, we are grateful that no one was hurt."
Local authorities and emergency responders have yet to release an official statement, but the incident highlights ongoing concerns about electrical hazards and fire safety in residential areas.
The affected residents are now left to count their losses, as the once-standing home has been completely reduced to rubble. Meanwhile, concerned neighbors and well-wishers have begun rallying support for those affected by the disaster.
Authorities are urged to improve electrical infrastructure and ensure safety measures are enforced to prevent such tragedies in the future.
