In an unexpected gesture of recognition, the Executive Secretary of the Bureau for Solid Minerals, Hon. Aondona Stephen Uta, paid a surprise visit to a vulcaniser in Adikpo, Benue State, whose workshop prominently displays the official portrait of the state’s governor.
The vulcaniser, who operates by the roadside, was rewarded with a pair of air-pumping engines and a cash gift. Hon. Uta acknowledged the vulcaniser’s loyalty and admiration for the state’s leadership, calling the gesture a testament to the value of grassroots support.
“This is just the beginning,” Uta stated, hinting that plans are underway to host the vulcaniser at the Benue State Government House for further commendation.
The act has garnered attention across the state, with many praising the government’s effort to connect with and appreciate ordinary citizens contributing to the visibility and support of the administration.
This move reflects a growing trend of grassroots engagement in Benue, where individuals demonstrating civic pride and loyalty are being celebrated and rewarded. For the Adikpo vulcaniser, it’s a moment of recognition that could lead to new opportunities.
