Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr have officially entered negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen for Nigerian striker Victor Boniface, identifying him as a key target to replace outgoing Brazilian forward Anderson Talisca.
According to renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Al Nassr have prioritized Boniface as one of their main targets, alongside Aston Villa’s young Colombian striker Jhon Durán.
However, Aston Villa are reportedly unwilling to let Durán leave during the current transfer window, leaving Boniface as the club’s primary focus.
Romano disclosed on Monday that an Al Nassr delegation has traveled to Germany to engage in discussions with Bayer Leverkusen and Boniface’s representatives.
“Understand Al Nassr delegation is now in Germany to negotiate with both player side and Bayer Leverkusen.
Talks underway, as revealed. Boniface and Jhon Durán are the two main names on Al Nassr list,” Romano wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Boniface, 23, has been in scintillating form for Bayer Leverkusen since joining the Bundesliga club in 2023. His goal-scoring prowess and physical presence have attracted interest from several clubs, making him a prime candidate for Al Nassr’s attacking rebuild.
Meanwhile, Anderson Talisca is set to part ways with Al Nassr, as the Brazilian forward prepares to finalize a move to Turkish giants Fenerbahçe.
Talisca has already traveled to Istanbul to complete his transfer, marking the end of his successful stint in Saudi Arabia.
Al Nassr, home to superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, continue to strengthen their squad with ambitious transfer moves, as they aim to maintain dominance in the Saudi Pro League and compete on the continental stage.
The club’s pursuit of Boniface highlights their commitment to securing world-class talent for their evolving project.
Negotiations are ongoing, and fans eagerly await further updates on whether Victor Boniface will make the move to Saudi Arabia.
