In a move to ease the financial strain on Nigerians during the holiday season, Dangote Refinery has reduced the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N899.50 per litre.
This announcement was made on Thursday by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group. The reduction follows a previous price cut to N970 per litre on November 24.
This latest initiative aims to alleviate transportation costs during the festive period, a time when travel expenses typically rise. Chiejina revealed that the refinery is also introducing a unique purchase offer.
For every litre of PMS purchased in cash, consumers can obtain an additional litre on credit, provided they secure a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.
“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM,” Chiejina stated.
“Furthermore, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to buy another litre on credit, backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.”
The refinery, celebrated as Africa’s first privately-owned oil refining facility, expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their unwavering support.
Chiejina reaffirmed the company’s commitment to providing high-quality, environmentally friendly petroleum products at competitive prices.
Highlighting the broader impact of the refinery’s operations, Chiejina noted that Dangote Refinery is playing a pivotal role in ending Nigeria’s dependence on substandard and blended imported petroleum products. Such products, he stated, have long posed risks to human health, machinery, and the environment.
With this strategic price adjustment and innovative purchase offer, Dangote Refinery is positioning itself as a key player in supporting Nigerians through cost-effective solutions during the holiday season.
