Super Eagles Clinch AFCON 2025 Qualification After Rwanda’s Defeat to Libya

 The Super Eagles of Nigeria have officially secured their spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Morocco, thanks to a decisive 0-1 loss for Rwanda against Libya on Thursday evening.

The dramatic match at Kigali’s Amahoro Stadium saw Fahd T Saad Mohamed score in the 84th minute, dealing a crucial blow to Rwanda's qualification hopes and sealing Nigeria’s place in the continental championship.

Nigeria, three-time AFCON champions, now enter their Friday match against Benin with confidence, already sitting atop their qualification group with 10 points. 

Meanwhile, Benin trails with 6 points, followed by Rwanda with 5 points and Libya with 4 points, each having one match remaining in the qualification series.

The Super Eagles, known for their robust performance on African soil, now turn their focus to final group-stage matches to further assert their strength ahead of the AFCON tournament in Morocco. 

The victory secures another opportunity for Nigeria to chase a fourth continental title and continues the nation's proud legacy in African football.
