In a move to strengthen the nation’s governance and operational efficacy, President Bola Tinubu has approved several high-profile appointments, naming Daniel Bwala as Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications at the State House.
Alongside Bwala, three other Nigerians have been appointed as Directors-General to helm critical national agencies.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, announced the appointments on Thursday.
Each appointee brings specialized expertise to the role, poised to enhance the country’s infrastructure in sports, tourism, and public procurement.

Daniel Bwala- Appointed as the Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications, Bwala is an accomplished lawyer and public affairs analyst, recognized for his insights and advocacy on national issues. He is expected to bring a fresh approach to communication strategies at the State House.
Mr. Olawale Olopade- Taking on the role of Director-General of the National Sports Commission, Olopade is a seasoned sports administrator with extensive experience in youth engagement.
His previous roles include Commissioner of Youth and Sports in Ogun State and Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival.
Olopade’s expertise in sports management will be instrumental in shaping the future of Nigeria’s sports sector.
Dr. Abisoye Fagade – Appointed Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism, Fagade is a veteran marketing communication professional and the founder of Sodium Brand Solutions.
Known for his strategic vision, he aims to expand Nigeria’s hospitality industry, capitalizing on its potential as a driver of economic growth.
Dr. Adebowale Adedokun – As the new Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement, Adedokun has been elevated from his previous position as Director of Research, Training, and Strategic Planning at the bureau.
His in-depth knowledge of procurement processes will enhance transparency and efficiency in public sector acquisitions.
