The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has taken decisive action against environmental infractions by sealing several establishments, including churches, hotels, bars, and bakeries, across the state.
The enforcement exercise, conducted in Mushin, Amuwo Odofin, and Okota Isolo, is part of a broader effort to combat noise pollution and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Among the sealed establishments are Daily Bakery, a branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Moulin Rouge Ventures at Olivia Mall, and Golden Haven Resort & Suites.
LASEPA officials confirmed that these establishments were shut down for exceeding acceptable noise levels and failing to adhere to proper waste management practices.
A LASEPA representative stated, “We are committed to creating a sustainable and healthy environment for Lagos residents. Businesses and organizations must operate within the framework of our environmental laws.”
While some residents praised the agency’s actions as necessary to curb noise pollution and other hazards, others called for more support to help businesses comply without facing abrupt closures.
The sealed establishments have been urged to address the identified violations and meet LASEPA’s requirements for reopening.
