In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kaduna State Command has announced the seizure of over 1,000 kg of illicit substances and the arrest of 420 suspects during the third quarter of the year.
The NDLEA disclosed that its operatives confiscated a total of 1,045.93 kg of various illegal drugs during coordinated raids and intelligence-driven operations across the state.
These operations, targeting major drug syndicates, were part of the agency's intensified efforts to curb the growing drug menace in the region.
Among the seized substances were cannabis, heroin, cocaine, and psychotropic drugs, all intended for distribution in Kaduna and beyond.
The NDLEA noted that the raids were conducted in several known hotspots, with some suspects arrested in transit, while others were caught in possession of large quantities of narcotics in their residences.
The 420 individuals arrested during these operations have been handed over to legal authorities for prosecution.
NDLEA officials emphasized that the agency remains committed to dismantling the drug networks operating within Kaduna and ensuring that those involved face the full weight of the law.
The Kaduna State NDLEA commander urged citizens to report suspicious activities related to drug trafficking, highlighting the agency’s dedication to creating a drug-free society.
