In a bold statement that has sparked political debate across the region, the Chairman of the Ogun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele, asserted that the party is not merely an opposition force but the rightful ruling party in waiting.
Speaking at a recent party gathering, Ogundele expressed confidence in the PDP's growing influence, emphasizing that the party’s mission goes beyond opposing the current administration.
“Our true identity is not that of the opposition but as the party destined to rule this state,” he declared, rallying supporters and party members.
Ogundele pointed to the PDP's enduring relevance in Ogun politics, citing its solid foundation, experienced leadership, and a strategic vision aimed at addressing the concerns of the people.
According to him, the party is poised to reclaim its position of authority in future elections, challenging the dominance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
“We are not here to criticize for the sake of criticism. We are here to show that we have what it takes to lead and bring about the positive changes Ogun people deserve,” he added.
With the 2027 gubernatorial race on the horizon, the Ogun PDP appears to be gearing up for a strong comeback, setting the stage for a fierce political contest in the state.
