In a major crackdown on kidnapping, the Ondo State Security Network Agency, widely known as Amotekun Corps, apprehended two suspected kidnappers along the Owo/Benin Expressway in the Ose Local Government Area.
The suspects had reportedly abducted four travelers, causing panic and fear in the region.
The kidnapping incident occurred on the usually busy highway, where the criminals allegedly ambushed the victims, holding them captive for an undisclosed ransom.
However, swift action by Amotekun operatives led to their capture, restoring a sense of security among road users.
According to Adetunji Adeleye, the Commander of Amotekun in Ondo State, the security team launched a tactical operation immediately after receiving distress calls from local residents about the abductions.
Their precise intelligence gathering and rapid deployment resulted in the arrest of the kidnappers and the safe rescue of all four victims.
The suspects are now in custody, and further investigations are underway to uncover any possible links to larger criminal networks operating in the area.
This victory highlights the growing effectiveness of Amotekun Corps in tackling insecurity across the state.
With the increasing efforts of Amotekun and other security agencies, the state government has renewed its commitment to ensuring that highways in Ondo State are free from criminal activities.
