The once tranquil Abua km 16 Gboko Road has become a hotspot of concern, as unknown gunmen continue to terrorize the area with a string of attacks over the past month.
The latest incident occurred last night at approximately 10:15 pm, with reports indicating that while no lives were lost, several individuals sustained injuries.
Local residents are growing increasingly anxious, as these attacks seem to be escalating in both frequency and intensity.
"At first, the gunmen attacked randomly," one resident reported. "But now, they are targeting specific individuals, and it’s getting closer to the state capital—just 16 km away."
Community leaders are urgently calling for increased security intervention to prevent further violence and protect residents.
Many fear that without immediate action, the situation could deteriorate rapidly, especially with the attackers often coinciding their assaults with Abua market days.
Authorities are yet to respond to the latest incident, leaving the community in a state of fear and uncertainty.
