The hunger protests sweeping across Nigeria have now reached the residence of former Governor Nyesom Wike.
Currently serving as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, Wike had previously condemned the protests in Abuja. However, while demonstrations in the capital have dwindled, they are gaining momentum in his home state.
On the sixth day of the protests, demonstrators gathered at Wike’s mansion in Port Harcourt. In response, the Nigerian Police Force has dispatched additional officers to ensure safety and maintain order.
In a viral video, a protester accused Wike of being one of the criminals profiting from the current government.
