Pat Utomi Denies Involvement in Planned Protests, Threatens Legal Action Against Tinubu's Adviser

In a press statement issued personally, Pat Utomi claimed he was not currently in Nigeria and unaware of any planned protests in the country.
Political economist Prof. Pat Utomi has threatened to sue Bayo Onanuga, the special adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, for accusing him of sponsoring the planned nationwide protests.

On Saturday, Onanuga posted on his verified X handle, accusing Utomi and Peter Obi of funding the upcoming protests against Tinubu’s administration and stating they would be held responsible for any liabilities arising from the demonstrations in August.

Utomi responded on X, indicating he initially intended to ignore the false assertion but has since been advised of a more sinister motive behind Onanuga’s statement, which he describes as a plan of state terror that should not go unchallenged.
