Lamine Yamal, a 16-year-old secondary school student, has been juggling his academic responsibilities with his participation in the Euro 2024 in Germany.
The Spanish Football Association recently shared a photo of Yamal diligently working on his homework while at the tournament.
"I go to class and every day I get different homework. Sometimes they give me more to do at home, but I do it every day," Yamal said as he completed some English assignments. "If they see that we are in the quarter-finals or last 16, they don't give me a lot of work, but on rest days, when my teacher knows I'm not doing anything, he does tell me to do some bits and pieces."
Despite his academic commitments, Yamal has been a standout performer on the field. He has recorded three assists, the most by any player in the Euro, and scored a remarkable goal that propelled Spain to the final.
