In a heartfelt press statement, Governor Hyacinth Alia has expressed his deepest condolences to the family of His Royal Highness, Clement Kparevfa Uganden, the Tiv Area Traditional Council (TATC), the people of Jechira, and the entire Benue State community.
Tor Jechira passed away in a London hospital on Thursday, July 25, 2024.
According to the Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, MNIPR, Governor Alia described the death of Tor Jechira as a significant loss, stating that his passing has robbed the Jechira and Tiv Nation of a wise and positive leader.
The Governor highlighted the invaluable contributions of Chief Uganden as a traditional ruler, father, and opinion leader.
Despite the sorrow, Governor Alia acknowledged Chief Uganden's exceptional efforts in conflict resolution and the preservation of the customs and traditions of the Jechira people.
As the Chairman of the Jechira Intermediate Area Traditional Council, Chief Uganden's wise counsel was highly regarded and will be sorely missed by his community.
Governor Alia prayed for God to receive Chief Uganden's soul and to provide comfort to his family, the Jechira people, and the entire Benue State during this challenging time.
