Former Governor of Taraba State, Jolly Nyame, declared on Sunday that the planned nationwide protest in Nigeria on August 1 is a scheme to oust the democratically elected government.
Nyame, addressing Yoro youths and community leaders at the Catholic Pastoral Centre in Jalingo, cautioned against participating in the protest, warning that the consequences could be severe given the country's current challenges.
"We are all aware of the plan by some Nigerians to vent their anger on the government through a national protest or shutdown," Nyame stated. "While the government bears responsibility for some issues due to certain policies and long-standing problems, we must also reflect on our own actions and their impact on the nation."
