The Oyo State Government has announced the opening of a job portal for public primary school teachers, which will be accessible from 6 p.m.
on Tuesday, 25 June 2024. This announcement was made by Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), during a briefing at the Board's headquarters in Ibadan.
Dr. Adeniran highlighted that this initiative is part of the state's efforts to reduce unemployment among its citizens. Applicants will need to register using their email, phone number, and National Identification Number (NIN), among other details. The goal is to provide suitable employment as teachers or caregivers.
The recruitment portal, located at http://subeb.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng, aims to fill 7,000 teacher positions and 100 caregiver roles. The application window will be open from 25 June 2024 to 9 July 2024.
“The Oyo State Government is expanding job opportunities in the basic education sector, particularly for those interested in caregiving,” said Dr. Adeniran. “Education is a major pillar of Governor Seyi Makinde's administration. We are committed to an inclusive government that will harness the valuable potentials within the state, which is why we are hiring new primary school teachers.”
Dr. Adeniran assured that applicants experiencing issues with the online application process can seek assistance through the support services provided on the website, including a phone number and email for free support services. He emphasized the need for applicants to upload all necessary documents and assured that the recruitment process will be transparent, fair, credible, and merit-based.
The application process will involve three stages: online application, CBT examination, and an oral interview. Dr. Adeniran warned applicants to beware of scammers, reiterating that the only portal for job applications is the one provided. He also stressed that the entire application process is free of charge and that no one is authorized to collect money from any applicant.
