John Felix Obuighkem, a seasoned Nigerian teacher with nearly two decades of experience in the classroom, has publicly rejected the score he received in the recently released Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
Obuighkem, who holds a degree in Biology and has been teaching the subject for 18 years, expressed disbelief over his performance in the national exam. According to him, his experience and background should have guaranteed him a high score, particularly in the biology section.
“Anybody who knows me knows that under no circumstances can I have a score as low as this,” he stated.
The teacher did not disclose the exact score he received, but his reaction has sparked conversations online and in educational circles about the credibility of examination results and the need for transparency in the marking and release processes.
Obuighkem is calling for a review of his result, insisting that it does not reflect his knowledge or capacity as a teacher.
His case adds to growing concerns among candidates and education stakeholders about the accuracy and reliability of standardized test assessments in the country.
